Pirate Earrings!

Arrrrrr! Pirate earrings!
Why is the rum always gone?
OK, so these don't really look like something that pirates would wear, but I promise I have a good reason for calling them this.  Can you guess?  Here's a picture for a clue:

Get it? That's the Black Pearl, Cap'n Jack Sparrow's pirate ship! And the earrings are made out of black pearls!  Pirate earrings!

I think it makes perfect sense.

Here's a tutorial:
Materials
two ear wires
two jump rings
ten 6 mm black fresh water pearls
ten head pins

Tools
round-nose pliers
needle-nose pliers
wire cutter (I just use nail clippers...they do the same thing and are cheaper!)

Step 1. Thread a head pin through a pearl. Make a simple loop. Repeat with all the other pearls.
Simple loop
Step 2. Open a jump ring and slip five of the pearls onto the ring. Close the ring. Repeat with the other jump ring and five pearls.

Step 3. Put the jump ring on an ear wire. Repeat. DONE!

Arrrrrren't they great? Enjoy!

  1. Very pretty! I've made some cluster earrings, but none like this. Great job =)
